The Angel of the Heaviest Element
Phorlakh holds the angelic office of Earth in the elemental system codified by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Where Uriel governs Earth from the world of Briah as its archangel, Phorlakh works one world downward, in Yetzirah, giving the coherent form through which the raw force of Earth becomes describable, invocable, and — eventually — usable by the operator standing in the physical world of Assiah.
The name takes its place beside three others that together frame the element: Uriel above, Kerub beside, Ghob below. Of the four, Phorlakh is the one addressed directly as angel — not ruler, not king, not the elementals themselves, but the messenger-intelligence through which the quality of Earth is transmitted and individuated before it reaches the Assiatic world of gnomes, stone, and soil.

The Descent Through Four Worlds
Golden Dawn elemental workings are built to move through all four Qabalistic worlds in a single current, from the most abstract name of Earth down to its most concrete elemental spirits. Phorlakh's station falls at the third step.

Phorlakh
Purpose
Petitioned for practical, earth-bound concerns that mirror the element's domain: employment, opportunity, material abundance, and stability — money and security drawn down through steady, tangible means.
Appearance
Described as a tall, androgynous angel who wears nothing but a dark purple sash across the right shoulder. The face is given as a woman's, set upon a powerfully built, masculine frame — the duality read as characteristic of the figure rather than incidental.
Practice
On the Order of Calling
Practitioners working within this system generally address the Earth hierarchy in descending order — archangel, then ruler and angel together, then king — so that the operation is anchored in each of the four worlds before it reaches the elementals proper. Phorlakh is rarely invoked in isolation: called alongside Kerub, the pair complete the Yetziratic step between Uriel's guardianship above and Ghob's dominion over the gnomes below.
